experience with api supported AI image generator

so for example sending "a man is walking on the beach with his dog, the image is photo realistic" etc etc. to api and getting an image back. I think the results with openai is a bit... ai :) but maybe it's settings or prompting -we get good results with midjourney but would love to hear options. What's the best today?
