Don't you think that many people on PH ask unnecessary questions rather than intellectual ones?

There's a flood of discussion on PH, but I've found most of it to be repetitive, unnecessary, and unrelated to the industry. I came here to participate or learn something new, but I'm disappointed with those questions! What do you think of it?

I see a lot of repetitiveness on PH but I see tons of unnecessary questions on Twitter. People ask pointless philosophical questions to try and seem smart or contrarian. It makes it hard to stay active IMO.

@rmarlow Hmm, I agree with you! other platform like LinkedIn and twitter now used in a same way.

I pretty much agree. I would love to see more threads about industry-related topics, but at the same time, I see they don't perform very well. Nonetheless if I find something interesting I'll reply :)

@pethron Yes! I come here daily not only to maintain my streak but also to engage with meaningful content shared by others. Learning from it and understanding how other users express their thoughts is what matters most to me.
And so many are AI generated. Sigh!

@patnishubh True Buddy! thanks you notice! I hope you're not following this!
@nitin_joshi Definitely not lmao
Brandon McQueen
Absolutely, not only that but it's easy to point out all the comments that are generated by AI. More than a bit disappointing if you're looking for real discussions.
Nitin Joshi
@bcmcq yes! You've highlighted a genuine issue here! Nowadays, many people use ChatGPT or similar apps to write content for comments. How awful is this?
Elena Tsemirava
This is true. But such discussions with "unnecessary" questions are generally much more popular.

@elenat @nitin_joshi I feel bad for LinkedIn used for posting not relevant post.
Nitin Joshi
@elenat Yeah, that's true. But now understand, using a website for a purpose other than it's intended for feels wrong. For example, these days, LinkedIn is being used as a social media platform like Facebook, with people sharing content that's out of context. That's my point.
Alyssa Phillips
Yes, Nitin, I have also encountered numerous repetitive and unnecessary questions. I choose to ignore them.
Nitin Joshi
@alyssaphillips Exactly! We must focus on learning rather than earning PH points or just for streaks. I would not skip a single day If something motivate me to access PH daily. what you think..?
Juan Manuel Dato
Good discussions could be about: Deontology: the branch of ethics that deals with the rightness or wrongness of actions based on their conformity to duty or obligation. Technical marketing advice: advice on how to market products or services using technical expertise. Production management: the process of planning, organizing, directing, and controlling the production of goods or services. Mathematical and physical technological limits: the limits of what is possible with technology, based on mathematical or physical principles. How foreign policy affects: the impact of foreign policy on a variety of issues, such as trade, security, and culture. Development dilemmas: complex challenges that arise in the process of development. Ideas for how to develop products: new or innovative ways to develop products. Analysis of why some projects fail: the reasons why some projects do not achieve their objectives. Catalog of catalogs: a collection of catalogs. However, when we are forced to discuss discussions or to promote products, it is possible that either quality is lost or an emergency bypass is being made - in the sense that an excess of bypass kills anyone. This means that it is important to have discussions that are focused on the topic at hand and that are productive. Discussions that are simply about having discussions or that are used to promote products are often not as valuable.

@juan_manuel_dato Wow you just wrote the entier rule book of PH. thanks buddy.
Darsh Arthur
Not only are there unnecessary questions, but there are also many fake accounts using the profile pictures of Instagram influencers. It's like making PH the third Facebook, with LinkedIn being the second. LOL.
Nitin Joshi
@darsharthur that is also true! AI has changed many way to spam the SM.
Karl Wang
I think it's because people come here with a purpose, usually centered around their product. I do want to see some deep dives though.
Nitin Joshi
@thinking_aloud yes! Fewer people make a platform relevant!
Navdeep Dhaliwal
this is true, not even PH on LinkedIn people post Irrelevant post which is very disappointing!
Konrad S.
That's clearly true, Nitin. I always try to either say something important (or relevant at least), or nothing at all. But with this stragy it's difficult to get many followers since I don't often have time to think what important things could be said on PH. Big problems with this "forum" that lead to repetitiveness: No subforums, no good search, only discussions started during the last day are shown by default.
Nitin Joshi
@konrad_sx My motive aligns with yours! When I post something, it's usually because I have a question in mind that's relevant to the platform. However, fewer people tend to participate. 😁
