πŸ‘‹ Hey Makers & Hunters! Anyone here knows any ideas on how to grow Telegram Channel? Currently, I use this to share my journey in indie-making, share any recommended software/apps & also some of the things I've made or hunt. I also plan to do some sharing sessions with my subscribers and also to monetize some content. Let me know if you have ideas or request what you want me to share on https://t.me/fajarsiddiqfs

I'm not offering advice, just sharing my story. I started a Swift Study Group Indonesia on March without a telegram channel at the beginning. Then a member recommended to have a telegram group so I made one. Then in the sign up email and sign up form, I put the link to the telegram group and asked the new members to join. Since then the group has grown to 190 users.

@nicnocquee i understand, there is different between group and channel for telegram. Good job for making a study group community πŸ‘ and growned. I have no problem running multiple telegram group, here are some of the group i'm part of as admin/owner. https://t.me/makerlog - admin for makerlog community https://t.me/microstartups - admin/owner for microstartups maker community https://t.me/jamstackmakers - admin/owner for jamstack makers community https://t.me/ramadanmakers - admin/owner for muslim makers community https://t.me/lioncitymakers - admin/owner for singapore makers community There are other private groups i manage and i'm part of too for learning or building stuffs. Currently i'm looking for any other ideas or request if you want me to share anything?

Good question. Although I don’t dedicate much effort to it, I also have a channel (micro community) - Mobile Apps Club, that focused for Mobile App managers and app makers. Current users have been grown organically but it’s staggered. So I share exactly the same concerns / thoughts with you :) Meanwhile, for the mobile app lovers and devs/designers out there feel free to join: https://t.me/MobileAppsClub

@tiagomvalente Awesome, i've seen your group, well done and growing! πŸ”₯ haha yes same concern/thoughts for Telegram Channel and not Telegram Group. Unlike like newsletter people subscribe using emails, but on telegram channel users have telegram handle names in order to subscribe to the channel. So i'm thinking how do we grow this?

grow here, on twitter, and every place where people can find you :)

There are two possible way and effective way to grow telegram channel is 1. Give some valuable stuff in free, 2. Advertise to all possible forum (FB, Twitter) to target audience. Target audience can help you to grow organically. I have down the same experiment with my channel. https://t.me/JoCaps

@madhurendra that's cool Which things have you tried and failed/didn't work as expected?

I think you should better use organic modes to share value since its scalable like youtube or blog and then ask to join community on facebook, i don't engage in telegram does feel productive and then monetise the community or offer some pro content to monetise going to do something similar soon
Fajar Siddiq
@sanskar_tiwari Any ideas on organic value? and also i don't join any facebook community. I need something seamless/fast so i use telegram more and i like to use it on my mobile/desktop. I guess monetization comes from different model like: building 1,000 fans model (selling memberships) or selling some sponsorships/placement. Do you have any idea how to grow telegram channel?
Jeff
Maybe do a PH launch?
Fajar Siddiq
@jesv I don't think so it would be necessary. Same goes as newsletter too i think? Let me know Jeff, if you want any specific topic you want to me to share in the channel

You can collaborate with other channels and create special content together
Fajar Siddiq
@nataliekarakina This is great idea! Where can i find another channels to grow special unique content together ? Currently my content is more about: indiemaking, entrepreneurship, product like software/apps. More here: https://t.me/fajarsiddiqfs/580

@fajarsiddiq It's the most interesting part – I haven't seen any databases. Networking and community help to find partners for collaboration

@fajarsiddiq that's great and cool idea! @fajarsiddiq I share the same problem than you (as you know), what about working on something together to crack out this "problem"? this is a great idea from @nataliekarakina, that I think we can put something together. WDYT? ;) let's catchup on TG.
Fajar Siddiq
@lisadziuba any suggestion on making database, do you mind elaborate more?
Georgina
Basically offer free valuables that actually solve problems in the niche you're in, it could be in content form or as a digital product, whichever, use it as a bait or an attraction to your telegram channel. Hope this helps
Tiago Valente
@gina67 which type of value would make you subscribe a channel? taking the example of mobile apps niche (my community niche in TG), from your example which type of problem or product would make you subscribe the telegram channel and join my community in the TG group? just trying to understand :)
Georgina
@tiagomvalente A product or content on how to create a mobile app, or its importance in or major role in scaling a business, or how to make money from it, and other problems or questions people may have concerning your niche; mobile apps. The main point is just to educate and solve problems The research is to find out what problems people are facing or how to know what people want to know in your niche Also considering the fact that you won't attract everyone, you'll only attract the audience you had in mind when starting that niche, and currently I'm not an ideal audience or target, so "personally" I doubt I'll join regardless of the great contents offered
Tiago Valente
@gina67 noted Georgina. Actually i just did a small survey on the community I run to identify precisely those topics you mentioned, what are the main "struggles" people do have now (about mobile apps). And the top two answers were about: 1st Growth & retention; 2nd Apps Marketing & Advertising. Main surprises (lowest scores) was about lack of interest knowing ASO. Anyway, thanks for your wise words. COuldn't agree more. And, in future if you become a potential target/part of this (mobile) audience, do not hesitate in reaching out.
