Great question.
Although I don’t think it’s a one versus the other answer.
That said I would start with functional and the functional should be functional enough to trigger the emotional

A successful product description should ideally strike a balance between both functional and emotional elements. Highlighting the product's features and functionalities addresses the rational needs of customers, while weaving in emotional appeal helps create a connection and reinforces the value it adds to their lives. Combining both aspects provides a comprehensive and compelling description that resonates with a broader audience.
