Do you really need a Hunter?

I just came across my latest notifications and saw what Chris Messina (Top 1 Hunter who hunts for money, about $500 for the launch) hunted and saw not very good digits... around 100-200 upvotes for the launch. So the question is do you need to pay a hunter if you don't have your source for support?
If you can't pack your product in the right way and don't have enough groups and chats to support, how can Hunter help you?
I've launched several products and some of them got #Top 2 and 3 of the Day, and from my point of you, Hunter is not a panacea. Any thoughts?

Warmup Inbox
Having a hunter doesn't have such a big impact anymore. Users following the hunter will get a notification on the product hunt website (but not in their email).
Hunter also typically shares the launch on their personal Linkedin/Twitter profiles, which can give you some good exposure.
I would advise you to rather invest in preparing some audience before your launch: https://www.tetriz.io/blog/build...

Rabbit Ideas Newsletter
I received a few offers from hunters for the launch of my second newsletter. I do not believe in this way of promoting, so I decided to go by myself. Not very good digits for the launch, but I prefer to build my audience organically without pushing too much.
