Do you charge your investors & friends to use your product?

From one perspective, I think "yes, of course, that's a way they support your startup". But I equally counter with "are you crazy? they are supporting you in every other way". I thought about discount coupons, but basically, same circular argument. Is there a "generally known best practice"?
