I'm launching my first AI-based product! I wonder whether to create a Twitter account to promote the launch 🤔 what do you suggest?

It will not have any immediate impact on the launch, since you will have to spend extra time, energy and money to build audience, getting them to believe in the product, drive traffic - seems like an inefficient use of resources.
Better bet is to do few posts on Indie Hacker and PH and drive some awareness and valuable traffic to website and drive trials.

@edoardo_bevilacqua yeah, that's what I thought in the beginning - but PH and IH is for all makers and builders from all backgrounds.
Biggest pro of promoting your product in these communities - you get early adopters of the product and are willing to share feedback. Playback that feedback in your product for further iterations. Subsequent versions can then be marketed to broader audiences on Twitter, TikTok, etc.
I would go about in the following order -
1. Create a rough demo of your product
2. Make a PH launch page and IH post - publish the video
3. Identify atleast 50 people whom you would want to try and subscribe to your product
4. Then reach out to them 1:1 via DMs or commenting to their posts
5. In parallel start the Twitter page and publish Tweets and engage with AI related content by influencers, prospective subs, and fellow makers and builders
6. Get the first round of feedback
7. Share your progress in public - here on PH, IH, and Twitter
8. By this time you would have built a decent awareness about your product and would have established 1:1s with ~40 of the people you listed above
9. Share the v2 with early adopters and beta testers
10. Announce the launch date on PH and IH
11. Launch!
I suggest you follow and connect with @basv @kronop @elifduran @akoratana for best advice on PH launch
@swapdp_01 thank you! How can I reach my target user on PH and indie hackers? I am inexperienced here but aren't these platforms more for technical people?

I would say yes. It will help you both build a community around your product and also will help support the launch as well.
But, if your product is ready, launch it right away. Building a Twitter following will take time.
@sergey_kornilov1 thank you! which channels do you suggest for the launch? Just PH?
Can you give more details, You can launch it in twitter if that's where your targetted audience are
@murali_aasaan I’ll put all details in few weeks :) my product is dedicated to a specific market niche, I think there could be target people on every platform: twitter, fb, instagram… but I cannot be everywhere, I’m wondering where to start
@edoardo_bevilacqua All the very best for your launch.
All the best for your launch
@edoardo_bevilacqua Select the platform in such a way that, It should reach maximum target audience.
@edoardo_bevilacqua Don't delay if you were going to launch it for example this week/month. Twitter and building a network takes time. But definitely something to keep in mind. Good luck!
Depends on who is your audience and where can you find them.
If your audience is regularly on twitter, then you too need to be.
If not, no need!
@edoardo_bevilacqua Promoted tweets if you can segment the audience is one way. Also, who said everything has to be done before launch? You do need to add subscribers /users after launch also. SO, it will be good to build up, taking time
I'm not sure if it is necessary at the moment. I at least believe that it would not be worth the time spent on it but I would also like to hear the opinions on this
@umutgunbak is also my doubt, it’s difficult to understand the cost-benefit ratio
If your clients and potential audience in Twitter, I think you should create a Twitter account to promote your launch. Then you will get chance to reach for your clients.
