Currently I am having 620+ followers. When I launch a product some of them will be notified via email, is it going to impact the launch ?

I don't think more followers will give you more upvotes. If your product is good, you will undoubtedly get feedback and upvotes. If followers matter, top hunters always get 1000 upvotes on their hunted products.

@ankitsharmaofficial Yes, this was what I was thinking. Hunter doesn't seem to add a lot of advantage
I guess having more followers definitely helps for the launch. More notifications can definitely lead to more upvotes, and better ranking!
@balkrishna_karma1 @matcha_anilHello, may I interview you about your experience using this website?
@balkrishna_karma1 Yeah wanted to know the same
In the early days, first 2-3 years of PH, it probably mattered more. Now? We probably get just a little back from PH launches.
@osakasaul oh, interesting take. Do you mean that PH users are less inclined to testing products now than they were when it started?
@nuno_ms_reis IMHO, yes. There was a lot of excitement early on, much of that has faded, I find.
@osakasaul You think that is due to the "fame" of product hunt, that now there are more people wanting to launch than to try?
I can imagine that at the start there would be less people trying products, but more people adopting what they tried
@osakasaul Yes, the conversion ratio has indeed dropped. Now a days producthunt is more useful for brand awareness and backlinks
@osakasaul The situation is like that, indeed. Some people I know haven't logged in PH for years. Nowadays, you may get hundreds of signups in a day after launching, but few of them really try your product. It's like a shrinking circle, where Hunters and Makers are just supporting each other, and fewer and fewer real outside users are involved.
I agree, I would also say followers may be more impactful if the person with alot of followers doesn't post ALL the time. In that way, the new content they share seems more valuable.
@kwaku_amprako Definitely, content is the king
If you have 620+ followers than definitely you have garnered an audience for yourself that will be able to see your launch. Having more followers definitely makes you feel more valued at the platform
@dan_morrison1 Valid points
It's simple really.. Having more followers is ALWAYS better than having less. Doesn't matter if they do support you in the end or not as long as they receive the notification and have a chance to decide on it. "You miss all of the shots you don't take" as they say :) my 2 cents
@rafael_gepuela this is true more is better.
@rafael_gepuela Thanks for sharing your insights
I think having more followers gives you better credibility on any platform but the way you engage with them is even more important :) That will make an ultimate decision of them supporting your or not
@sandradjajic Definitely, engagement is the key. You have been quite engaging on twitter which is the reason for your tremendous growth :)
You launched 15 products so far, please share with us the impact of your following on your products launches.
@matcha_anil Thanks for sharing that, not many here have the experience of launching multiple products especially 10+, so your input on the topic is much appreciated!
@vladimir_zivkovic Producthunt is great for brand awareness and generating backlinks
I’m a newbie on Product Hunt and I’m interested to know how you built a community of 620 followers ! Any tips or recommendations ? @matcha_anil
@devezehugo Sharing my product launches on twitter https://twitter.com/matchaman11 to my audience helped in growing. You can follow me on twitter to understand the process

I think it can notify your followers about your PH launches, so it helps somewhat
Interesting thread
More followers can definitely lead to more upvotes and visibility for your product. So yes, it matters!
@adarsh_jose_benny Thanks for sharing your insights
Same question
In terms of launching, your followers are notified about your launch, so I'd say it matters to some extent
This helped us get product of the day 2nd place for evoke-app.com
@richard_gao2 Awesome, thanks for sharing your insights
Inform your audience in a targeted way, then the results will be much better.
@viktor_shpudeiko Unfortunately, there is no way to inform the audience directly as Producthunt provides no tools for that
Followers count in Product Hunt does matter to some extent, as it indicates the level of interest and engagement that your product has generated among potential users. However, it is not the only factor that influences the success or failure of a product on Product Hunt.
It definitely does. The more followers you have, the better the chances of reaching out to audiences when you launch a product.
Great question and very insightful answers! 😊 Thanks Anil!
We are launching soon, so I wanted to double check if someone knows for sure if my followers will really be notified by email, all of them? Or I must contact each of them separately? 🤔
May I use this opportunity to announce we are counting down and we prepared really beneficial product to the community 🤗✨
I would appreciate your impressions on the launching day ➡ https://www.producthunt.com/prod... 💛
(Any pre-launch/launch tips are very welcome😃)
@maria_brm All the best for the launch. I am not sure if everyone will be notified but atleast a few of them will be notified
@matcha_anil Thanks so much! 🙏🤗 And thanks for the answer, it's good to know that and to be prepared 🙏😊
Is there a maximum amount of "following" you can add?
Like are you limited to following 5000 users?
Asking the same thing. Is having more followers better than having more points? Or is it the other way around?
