Disheartened and shocked Yesterday!

We are actively participating on Product Hunt, supporting all the products and engaging in discussions to help others grow and build a strong community together. But, it's really very disheartening when you receive an email , messages to purchase the upvotes.
We launched our product, LLM Spark, by YourGPT yesterday and are very disappointed by all those messages to purchase upvotes to secure a good position on Product Hunt.
What are your views on it, and with all those activities, how can we trust that we are giving our valuable time to the right platform to build a good community ?

Hey Neha!
That, for sure, can be disappointing. I appreciate you ignoring them, of course.
While we can't stop bad actors from trying to get people to purchase upvotes, we have several systems in place here that prevent said upvotes from affecting the ranking. Of course, few likely will get through as no system is perfect.
However, our automated system and human moderators do a pretty good job and take it seriously.
Thanks again for wanting to keep Product Hunt a great place and refusing to engage with these sellers.

@aaronoleary Your attention to this matter is greatly appreciated.
I urge you to address this issue seriously, as it's genuinely disheartening. Spending considerable time building a supportive community, only to see a newcomer secure a favorable position through purchased votes, is a painful experience. Keeping things fair is crucial to uphold trust.
We are planning our launch on next week. This will be eye opener for us to get away from those messages.
@velusamy_subramaniam all the best for your launch and yes please stay from those and it might be helpful if Product Hunt enforces strict guidelines to address this.

OMG, I believe such sellers as well as buyers will be banned ðŸ˜
It's shocking but true. Same boat and all the more scary seeing this as this was our first launch here and never thought all this would happen.
ugh. That is disappointing. Why am I so surprised this happens...
Really sad. I received just today a message from someone offering upvote purchase services. I still think Product Hunt is able to catch those cases but still, some will slip through the cracks.
If people keep buying, services like this will keep on existing.
@jacopo_proietti yes agree, and its really disappointing to get those messages. If people keep buying, these services will persist. Hope Product Hunt can find more effective ways to tackle this issue🤞
We also had this problem, we just ignored them. It's a trap as PH will remove those upvotes and your product will go down. Unfortunately, these... enterpreneurs, so to say, can still do it to dump the product. But PH support is rather good, just reach out to them if you are contacted by someone with such an offer, the support will take the necessary measures.
Metawork
The platform has anti-cheating policies, but they are not very strict, so it doesn't seem very effective. The fact that people are buying votes also indirectly proves the value of the platform. I believe that good products will not be buried here.

Oh no! That's really disappointing to hear. Authenticity should be the heartbeat of any community. Your dedication to genuine engagement will shine through, and the right audience will recognize it. Keep rocking the realness!
@istiakahmad Yes, but we can't do anything just to stay away from those people but what about those who are buying? I think only PH enforces strict guidelines to address this and block both buyer and seller.
