Competition Analysis - Instagram content strategy

Hi there, I am an entrepreneur and I work in the same field as famous brands like MyFitnessPal, LoseIt and ... Compare to the number of followers and users they have which is in 100 of thousands, they get very few comments and likes on their IG posts. I have also noticed that a lot of people no longer engage with posts but do follow brands. This has made it difficult for me to set expectations for myself and even define a clear content strategy. Because idk if my posts are not good enough or simply that people don't like and comment under IG post as much as before. What are you thought on that and are there other metrics that I can use to see if my posts are good?
