We're over-evolved monkeys, it's inherently toxic to us. It's the entire planets stream of consciousness directed at our eyeballs. We should be out catching fish but instead we're watching, in real time, every single slight against every single person that _the algorithm_ decides we should care about.

Well, I'd say everything is for us, people, so the problem is rather with the content itself, some posts might be i.e. inappropriate for different groups of users, some not. Personally, I really like this quote which for me is very accurate in this case: "All things are poison, and nothing is without poison".

It all depends on what you have in mind. Social media can be helpful as well as toxic. If you use it for the wrong reasons, it can cause a lot of troubles. But, if you use it positively, you can use it to your advantage to interact with people worldwide. You can boost the growth of your business and can take it to the next heights. It's not necessarily social media that can be toxic, but it's all the people on it.
