Building my project in public, how to attract followers? any BIP tips?

I've been considering building my next product in public, so I'll share some tips that I've come to learn from others in preparation for it. While building in public, you are giving your followers a 'behind-the-scenes' look at how you are making your product. So, the most important tip is to share your work frequently & frankly. Make sure you share both your wins and losses. It is about keeping things 'real' . People are interested in knowing about the reasons behind decisions that you took, and the consequences of those decisions. It's like you are conducting a real-world experiment that others can learn from. They want to see the story of your product unfold in front of their eyes. So try and present it in an easily comprehensible format, infused with a bit of your own style/personality. Ideally, I would say that one important factor is that you should not consider 'attracting more followers' as your core goal. Yes, it may seem a bit too unreasonable at first, but, I believe it can be the best approach in the long-run. What you need to focus on is : providing value. The value you provide will slowly build a community around you, which will be there to support you , not just on this product, but your future products as well.
