Needless to say, there are pros and cons to each, but right now bootstrap. So long as you can get to a point where your living costs aren't a problem and you've there's so much less pressure.
Going up against competitors with deep pockets without a VC is a real challenge.
There are things I would do differently if I start tomorrow, but bootstrapping is how I'm doing my current and biggest project. So probably I would choose that or a combination between couple of things - as someone below said, there are pros and cons to both of them and it's challenging either way.
Bootstrap. It gives you leverage, and I think leverage is the most essential to living your idea and product.
