Backlink Building - One of The Most Effective SEO Tactics Ever

From past experience, one of the most effective SEO tactics I've come across is reciprocal backlinking and it's as easy as A.B.C. Here's a brief overview for those who haven't heard of it.
Step 1: Find a website which offers reciprocal backlinking.
Step 2: Read their terms. Most will request for you to place an image or text link on your website prior to submitting a reciprocal backlink request.
Step 3: Follow the instructions to place their backlink on your website.
Step 4: Have your assets/text ready for submission.
Step 5: Submit a reciprocal backlink request, usually in the way of a form. Some website owners request for an email.
Step 6: Wait for confirmation from the website owner of your reciprocal backlink.

What is the quality of these backlinks though?
I think the thing with backlinks is they have to be quality and I'm sure Google recognizes reciprocal links and associates them to low quality. Plus, after dozens of years of SEO practice, there really aren't any good "backlink services" and I think there is a reason for that.

@rmarlow I would think that after dozens of years of seo practice that you should be able to answer your own question of "what is the quality of backilnks though".
Of course context matters which is why the assets/text used for back links is important. What it sounds like you may not be aware of is the "reciprocality" of backlinks.
Would I reject an offer to have a reciprocal backlink at no cost from a site like Swappit.me? Hell, no. Swappit.me was launched on PH because it's a marketplace with an audience here. A smart person, whether knowledgeable in SEO or not, would jump at an opportunity like this.
Side note: I have a link to Siliceous Solutions throughout the footer of Swappit.me's website. Another neat little SEO trick design agencies use, even without context.
The idea is good, but don't you think you need to work on your domain authority?

@silisolutionist As I understand you are advocating https://www.swappit.me/links/. According to MozBar it has PA8 and DA6. And as I know it's not recommended to use for link building websites with the DA less than 20 at least. Or am I wrong?

no doubt the best and easiest way to get boost in your website trafic is to get backlinks from authority websites as i got service from https://onegoodwebdesign.com/ they done such a great job to get backlinks from high authority website, but i don't think google allow this strategy.

I've shared this here based on my personal experience with taking a brand new (unrelated) website in a massively competitive industry from 0 to the top result in search engine rankings in 3 months (combined with other SEO tactics, of course).
I hold my own experience and results I've achieved in the past as "God-like" expertise than what Google says.
