  • As a solo entrepreneur, should I send cold emails from my personal email, or my startup's email?

I'm about to get started on this and I can't decide. What's been your experience? Why should I choose one over the other?

As a consumer / user / subscriber I would prefer to be marketed by an @domain account because it feels less phishy.

@hi_marizsa 🤔 never thought of it that way. Could you elaborate?

@psd POV: By using an @domain account, businesses can demonstrate that their emails are coming from their official domain and are not fraudulent or malicious. It helps create a recognizable and consistent brand identity, which can enhance customer confidence and engagement with the marketing messages.

@domain @hi_marizsa Gotcha! Thanks Marizsa! I can see that being a good reason

startup domain will give you more credibility, definitely go with that one. Are you using Outlook by any chance? You can send more emails compared to G Suite (2,000 emails via Outlook vs 400 via G Suite). If you will go with Outlook, feel free to take a look at the extension we're working on - https://chargemyemail.com/ P.S. Don't forget to warm up your email address before launching cold outreach!

@svitlana_palamarchuk these are great tips! Not using Outlook yet, but I think I will now after hearing that. And I might be using your Chrome extension...looks helpful! Thank you!

@danielshinall also, warmed up outlook is less likely to land in spam/junk folders 💪

#RedAlert. None of them. You should never, send Cold Email from your business connected domains (that includes your personal/identity domain). Cold Email should always be sent from burner domains (these are domains that look similar to your business domain). Eg, our SaaS is at https://mutantmail.com , so I would use "usemutantmail.com", "trymutantmail.com", "getmutantmail.com" or something similar to send cold emails. And as a founder to founder, I would love to help you with discount on https://mystrika.com (our complete cold email tool).

Be careful! If your startup's domain address is new, you might burn your domain if you start sending a lot of cold emails. Limit to <10 per day if you are sending from a new address.
