Are you an indiemaker or part of a team?

I am both for different projects 🤩
There are benefits to both. The power and speed you have as a team is unmatched, also you can share responsibilities which is very important to have some peace of mind at the end of the day.
When working solo on a project, I can make decisions faster because all the info around the project is always centralized in my head. But being the sole person responsible for everything can also take a toll.

@fscholz I'd love for your team (and you) to check out BoodleBox! It's brings all the top AIs under one roof and your team Think of it as all of your favorite AIs + slack's experience. We launched today. (https://www.producthunt.com/post...)

Currently flying Solo, but I always encourage people to do it together with someone if possible.
@joseph_natoli for a given project, how do you decide whether to go it alone, or find a partner?
ps, really excited to launch smartrazor today, would love any feedback 😊

@yukioyama Hey Yuki! That is a really tough question to answer for someone as its highly personal.
In all honestly, unless you are a solo developer who is not trying to build a company worth hundreds of millions then you probably need a co-founder or at least a support system of some sort. Once you have founded a business, you'll start needing help to develop, to run the business (ex. handle taxes and finances), do customer support, etc. As a solo founder you will hit a wall going at it alone. No single person can excel at the sheer information needed to run all of these aspects effectively.
However if you have developed a small, say, browser extension that is rather automated for the end user and requires a 1 time payment you can easily process in Stripe... perhaps going at it alone is okay. :)
You feel me on what I am getting at here?
P.S: - Good luck on Smartrazor, feel free to reach out for that founder support!

I Work with a co-founder, it's hard to do everything yourself when building a real product, unless you're delegate or outsource some of the tasks. What about you?
I'm part of a team!
I'm currently an Indiemaker and try and work on projects in between client work.

Part of a team of two developers!
App Finder
Indie currently. Slower than with a team, but also very interesting, to do so many different things, and I learn so much!
Part of a team - as a matter of fact we launched NewSub (http://newsub.io) less than a month ago in PH :)

I have a cofounder, but I may as well have worked solo.
My first cofounder left because we got into a startup accelerator that required them to drop their summer career internships, but they didn't want to and subsequently left.
My second cofounder left because he didn't want to work for his 50% share of the equity as much as I was willing to and felt guilty about it; so he left.
I asked a comp-sci prodigy I know from my graduating class of 2024 to start a startup with me. We're both well known in our fields at our University, so that helped give some confidence in working together.
In the past 2 months I've been working about 70-100 hour weeks. Grind never stops!
Currently bootstrapping as an indie, but open to cofounders, VC, or anything else that makes sense for the business. I just want to build a good business.
@oleifrking Also bootstrapping. I think this is a fair take - most people seem too lean too hard into VC or bootstrapping (im a bit guilty of this) but i think the objectively best standpoint to take is yours.
As a seasoned indie dev would appreciate your feedback on Smartrazor which launched today Oliver.
@omar_jones I'm building https://www.mythmaker.io/
Goal is to help early stage founders GTM by putting content marketing + social media management on autopilot → I want to make AI agents for professional networking.
I run a web development agency based in Italy, but at the same time I try to cultivate new ideas on my own, drawing on my experience with our clients.
I try to take the best of both worlds :)
Launching products as an indie hacker requires a great deal of determination. I highly respect people who can do this on their own.
I do this with my roommate from college. We both go back and forth with our ideas.
