How are the organizations you work in utilizing asynchronous communication, if at all?

Hello Everyone, With the shift in remote work this year, how have organizations adapted in regards to asynchronous communication? I'd love to hear your insights and experiences. Specifically: Are organizations adapting to the new normal by allowing asynchronous communication? Meaning, are employees given control over when they communicate with their teammates? Have people become more comfortable with having their questions answered at the convenience of the recipient? Do you believe that synchronous meetings (when all attendees must be there at the same time. ex: Zoom meeting or office meeting) are more or less valuable than asynchronous meetings? Why?
