We're building Boxr, a seamless and certified secure delivery experience for e-com retail customers. While it's no secret that the last mile of delivery is broken, the prevailing thought in the shipping & logistics space is that solving this problem will come from yet another technocratic solution that always addresses the speed and efficiency with which a parcel gets to a customer's front door, but never addresses what happens WHEN it gets to your door. No matter how fast a parcel gets to your door, if you're not there to receive it, chances are it will result in a missed delivery or stolen parcel. Delivery should be simple, and the market has spoken. Customers don't want to: Pickup parcels at a depot if they don't have to Wait at home for a delivery to occur Coordinate a delivery window with carriers Spend time tracking a parcel by the hour because they know they won't be home for a delivery We created Boxr to tackle this problem head-on by allowing homeowners to receive parcels on any day, at any time of day, regardless of whether the customer is home or not. With Boxr, there is no need to pre-arrange a delivery window, no need to pick up your parcel at a depot, no need to worry if it will be stolen, or if a missed delivery will occur. At this time in our startup journey, we have decided that the best use of our time is to learn from our customers, and NOT to be running around pitching in an investor environment that is generally hostile to: hardware startups, first-time founders, founders over 35, single-founders, canada-based startups, unproven markets. The odds are stacked against us and we are the first ones to recognize this. On the other hand, I'm delighted to increasingly hear of more stories about hardware founders taking an unconventional approach to their journey from dev to revenue, who are succeeding despite progress not being at breakneck speeds. The journey - not the destination - is the purpose of our mission. We can't wait to meet the thoughtful, enlightened partner who will walk this journey with us.
