6000+ upvotes... Really?

Last Friday there was a bit of a phenomenon that no one seems to have discussed here yet. Well at least I haven't seen any posts about it. In fact I didn't even know about it until today. So what happened? This ➡️https://www.producthunt.com/posts/wordware-yc-s24 ! These guys went viral on Twitter with their purpose built project, and used it really cleverly to promote their PH campaign. Yeah, I was super sceptical at first and I know that the PH boss was too, because he sent a warning email to the folks at Wordware. But at the end of the day they achieved something spectacular without being active on this platform. Their hunter has 74 followers and only ever upvoted 13 products including 3 of his own. Their makers have even fewer followers and not many upvotes either. So... it begs a question, how important is hunter and maker reputation on this platform really?

I think they just got very lucky. However, it was one hell of a day. The first thing on saturday morning I did was to check how are they performing. But its not just luck because the team struggled a lot before the launch including server failure. In the demo video, the founder seemed totally tired but still excited. Loved it!

@lakshya_singh I totally missed that day for some reason so had no clue that it was happening. It was Friday so it was a smart move to launch it on the day when people would be more inclined to play around with their free Twitter tool just for fun.

The guys are great - they did what no one else has been able to do in recent times (they got 6000+ votes). They didn't follow standard advice and strategies - they created their own and won. https://www.producthunt.com/post... congratulations one more time!

@maria_anosova Agreed. Totally out of the box thinking. Although they are backed by YC and usually those launches always get a lot of upvotes purelly because of the network they are in. But regardless, great achievemnet. Now let's hope they actually make some money from this ;-)
