How to get users to really use my platform ?

Hi, I've been developing a free and non-profit social network for the past few days. Now that I start to have some users (35ish), I want them to use and share their ideas on the platform.
Do you have any tip?

consider showiing them examples of what types for ideas to share, they could be design images like dribbble & pininterest display
you may also want to change your landing page slightly by adding images of the activities users can partake.
Many people rarely read text in a landing profile, so they should be instantly attracted to sight via images.
even instagram shows sample images and videos on their landing page
