Yes, this happened to us. The algorithm seems kinda capricious. I think it tries to detect 'fake' upvotes and is over cautious, so there are many false positives.
🤔 Were your votes taken away during the launch?

Ok, self promotion time: do take a look at afterword.tech
We launched a few months ago, another launch due this year (hopefully!)

20% of the posts that I write take up 80% of the total time I spend writing posts. There could be an average figure (say 3-4 hours?) but that would be misleading.
Besides the length of the post has virtually no correlation to the value and clarity of the ideas expressed.
Just my 2c
How much time should an average content writer spend on a blog post? (800-1000 words long)

Gonna go against the grain here, but if you are adding value, then missing a day here or there (thus breaking the streak) is probably not going to matter. The streak is just PH's way of getting you to contribute as much as possible.
🔥 342 day streak on Product Hunt. Do you think it's important?

What is one thing you are convinced is true that most people disagree with you on [tech only pls]
Ok, let's have it: what is an unpopular opinion you have about technology today.
Let's have some interesting back and forth going on here!

What if the hallucinations never go away?
That Large Language Models (LLMs) are prone to making things up is common, even mainstream knowledge now, and a fair source of concern.
Considering that (for now at least) LLMs are the dominant kind of AI in use, it might be useful to think of a scenario where this tendency does not get resolved satisfactorily and we have to look at solving it 'outside the AI box'.
If it indeed comes to...

Expertise will become free...really?
'Expertise will become near free..' says Vinod Khosla.
If that indeed ends up being the case, then the trust that underlies all transactions and which arguably comes from the 'humanness' of the expert will have to come from somewhere else.
Where/what is that somewhere else? Or would what we consider expertise simply move 'up one level'?

Using external services for everything may not always be the best idea...
(for technical builders)
External 'X as a service' tools, especially large ones are created for typical use cases (even if the blurb does not say so explicitly): they are in the end products and thus 'packages of emphasis' and highly opinionated.
However, your use case, especially if you are at a startup, is unlikely to be typical. So even if a product promises to 'solve X' for your stack, it...

Do you think language models are the 'final form' of AI?
Or is there something else on the horizon? Symbolic AI maybe?

Replies to comments on posts do not appear in order. I would fix that first. So frustrating!

Pre vs post-launch engagement
(For folk who have launched at least once on PH)
How was your post launch engagement with the PH community different from what you did before the launch?

Do we need to chat with everything?
Loads of AI tools are gravitating towards chat as the main interface (chat with your files, chat with your knowledge base, chat with your emails etc etc).
Is it just because chat is easier to build? Or maybe because this is where expectations are settled for the moment (possibly because of the awareness that ChatGPT generated)?
Thoughts?

I would forgo all the time machines and neural implants just for the ability to fly like Superman (does that count as science fiction?).
I don't even want it for transport or anything, just for fun. Heck, i would even be happy if it was for just one day of the week, like only Saturdays. :D

Actually yes, but the numbers seemed to taper off a bit. I do feel like PH is losing its leverage.
