The hack for me (longtime NYC resident) is to find the bar or restaurant that has WiFi and will let you work. The whole BS about "You can sleep when you're dead" and other stuff that glorifies burnout culture is self-defeating and perpetuated by people who are overcompensating for their lack of talent and creativity.

This happens to me every year. End of July, beginning of August I feel a huge decrease in mental energy. I used to fight against it really hard and feel guilty for not accomplishing more. But I've learned that the best path is do something every day to keep the ball rolling. Not every workday has to be an epic productivity session! You can get stuff done and still find time to chill!
