Depends on the employee. I have seen remote employees who were the highest performing on the team, and remote employees who were completely MIA. I think it's important to set benchmarks, goals, and metrics so you can objectively track performance

I think a balance is important. It's nice to stay connected to coworkers and see what they are listening to, when their bday is, etc. But maybe an option for available for social chat or not available? I think too much insight can be too distracting. I don't want to see all my coworkers meetings and calls. And when I am heads down, being too available can be distracting.

I think it makes sense for businesses. It can help them grow an account fast, increase their engagement, and is a drop in the bucket in terms of their marketing budget. However, I don't think it makes sense for personal accounts. Sharing life events with your friends and family shouldn't be affected by how much you pay per month. IG is already pretty bad. Healthy things: Catch up on sleep, get exercise (even if it's just a quick walk), work on projects, read, spend time with family and friends Not healthy things: Binge Netflix, stay up late, watch Youtube videos, play video games I would like to say its only the healthy things that rejuvenate me.. but honestly its a mixture of both 😂
