Mat Sherman is as tenacious a hustler as there is and he's building a great platform to democratize access to startup capital for founders lacking access to privileged networks.

This is likely the best-looking of the myriad investor lists available online, and the info as presented is pretty useful, but it could be immensely more valuable with a couple of enhancements such as more advanced filtering, a common app for startups, and opt-in intros.

a) For my startup HaveNeed, I am motivated by staying focused on the positive impact it will have on people's lives when we get to scale.
b) For my startup HaveNeed, I am motivated by the usefulness I know it will deliver, and by the opportunity for it to provide additional funding to grow HaveNeed.

Launching @HaveNeed next month. We're making the barter marketplace for goods & services available to charitable orgs gratis when their members transact within their respective private groups. When they transact in the public network they will be treated as regular users (i.e. pay transactional barter fees). We view this as both a way to deliver impact at scale while also being an efficient...

Sorry to see you go. Corralling cats (managing a community) isn’t easy and I think you’ve done a great job at PH.

My startup @HaveNeed has developed a novel solution to an ancient problem. A problem I run into frequently when discussing this with potential investors is a bias to lean on the crutch of pattern recognition. In other words, it's easier to think, "Oh this is just like that other thing I've seen" than to take the time to learn how and why something is fundamentally different. If I had nickel for...

?makers KYC tools are great, and incredibly important. That said, you need better English translation. At 19 seconds in you have a title that reads "Industries who suffers from scummers". It's a red flag. Should read "Industries which suffer from scammers". You're in the business of building customer trust so it would be a good idea to start with your presentation materials.

Once you get past proper equipment, the need for good internet connectivity and the time-saving associated with no more commutes, it comes down to whether the person is well-suited to work remotely or not. The longer we're in this remote-first world the more tools we'll have to provide structure, reporting, etc., but I doubt one can make someone who needs/thrives on in-person interaction into a...

A group of people who can provide shared value or support to one another, personally and/or professionally. Lately, I've seen it overused as a buzzword for people to put themselves in the spotlight, but there's obviously value in community building when done right.
