How often do you express appreciation openly?

To make it clear, expressing openly means expressing publicly so other team members know - probably shoutout - like using a Slack channel. When do you express? It's a kind of self-reflection due to I've never done it openly for 14 months in the team. 😨

Do you prefer to express appreciation openly or secretly in your workplace?

Expressing openly would mean letting your other team members know. Expressing secretly would mean sending a DM to the person you want to say thank you. Of course, we have to use both ways, but there should be a better way to build a nice team culture. Also, I'm curious if you are using an app for this purpose.
