Where is the best place to hire contractors (developers) in 2024?
Here are my opinions on various platforms, but please feel free to share if you disagree:
1. Upwork — No barrier to entry so there's too many low-quality profiles to sort through
2. Wellfound — I found some pretty good devs here a few years ago (circa 2018), but it now seems to be trending towards Upwork
3. Turing — Takes a massive cut. Pays developers pennies.
4. Toptal — Good talent but also...

I hope that people understand that it is better if their family members choose not to travel this year.
I live on a different continent from the rest of my family, and it'll be the first year I miss Thanksgiving with them (it's my favorite holiday). Thankfully, I have some American friends here that I'm doing a Friendsgiving with, so I'm excited to have at least that.
What are your plans for Thanksgiving?

Where and how should I conduct market research in the HR tech space?
Since internal company recruiters in tech would be the target market, I'm wondering where it is appropriate for me to ask them questions like "Would you pay for X feature and how much?". My initial ideas are manually messaging them on LinkedIn and joining recruiter-centric LinkedIn groups.
Second question is, how should I gather this information? Is a survey appropriate? I don't want to be too...

I use Reddit a lot for sharing my product, so I talk to many of my followers on there. I find that people are more likely to say how really feel because it's "anonymous" (username-based).

1. Not forgiving yourself when something comes up that prevents you from reaching your goals or reaching them on time. Ex. a major bug was uncovered on my platform during peak time the other day that I spent hours solving. I didn't get to some big tasks I planned on finishing. I felt like the day was unproductive.
2. Downsizing goals a lot because no one questions me if I do.

Gathering and sharing non-generic testimonials would help. By non-generic, I mean ones that go like "X product saved me Y hours each time I had to do Z" instead of "Best website for XYZ!".

I would say you need a co-founder when you no longer have the time to serve your growing customer base. Or if you are not able to grow your customer base anymore with your work capacity. If there is not a particular problem to solve, then getting a co-founder right now might not be worth it.
I also am working alone on a SaaS product and only get the occasional consultation or help from my...

Confluence or some "wiki"-esque form of documentation worked best for me in past teams.
