I'll go first.
I had directly marketed my product on my social media instead of requesting up-votes.
What I thought was that I'd get traffic from both social media and Product Hunt, but sadly, I didn't receive more than 2 up-votes. I realized that I need to post about the Product Hunt launch on my social media to get initial up-votes. Then, if users like it, it will take off.
