I just need a script for generic birth control because the name brand is expensive. The provider stated that she had never heard of my allergic reaction to a drug. It may have been placebo effect. Placebo effect is powerful. She went on to say that it was borderline malpractice that my local provider wouldn't do an IUD. She also suggested that I skip birth control and use protection.
I asked for a second provider, who just said that they had 9 alternatives to my brand and over 100 options. She refused to select one or to send the script.
Customer care has escalated this lack of respect and care to management. I spoke to customer care first and verified that it is within their scope to provide birth control suggestions. I reviewed this goal with them after the appointment and they verified that the provider failed to provide care and set up another appointment with a senior staff member. The rude provider has continued to call and email me trying to get me to go away and not have my appointment.
The provider's failure to read and understand a question does not make the patient complicated.
Access to healthcare should be quick and easy. No one should endure this treatment.
