I am a computer vision engineer, who worked for a startup Bodylabs (focusing on 3D human body reconstruction, acquired by Amazon in 2017) and later worked for Amazon on fashion related projects. My passion is to apply cutting-edge cv/ml technology to upgrade traditional manufacturing industry with smart design and factory for making personalized physical products. My current project is to leverage depth sensor scanning technology and AI generative model to automate the design and manufacturing pipeline of custom insoles (which used to require lots of manual steps to design and manufacture). With this new automatic pipeline, we can make custom insoles MUCH MORE AFFORDABLE to regular consumers meanwhile keeping high quality.
I have a flat feet and use insoles a lot. Gradually, I found OTC insoles hardly helps, but traditional custom insoles are so EXPENSIVE, due to their clinics operation model. Thx to scanning technology and 3D printing nowadays, it is possible to automate the scan, design and manufacture steps with minimum human involvement. What is more, some custom insoles are just so soft and flimsy (you can bend the insoles with your hands!). Our insoles have extra arch support with double layer rigid structure.
