I don’t appreciate it when I download an app to my phone, then I’m asked to upload 10 personal pictures which I need to spend quite some time on, just to find out that it’s paid without a trial or anything like that.
I was even more surprised that nowhere on your website you mention anything about pricing. Just not cool, the kinda patterns I thought were gone a long time ago.
Hey Ariel, we hear you. Generating these portraits cost a lot of computing resources we have to cost, before been able to show any results therefore it's not possible for us to offer free trials, not where technology is right now.
We'll make sure that it's clear right from the get-go that it costs money to create your Retratos.
Thank you for your feedback!
With just a few taps, Retrato can help unleash your creativity and generate stunning portraits that are sure to impress.
its amazing! I got a new profile pic for just a few bucks and didn't need to pay a photographer as well as many other cool avatars which I used multiple times in different contexts
@lifenautjoe this app is fantastic 🎉 I've been using it to generate portraits for myself and my family members, and everyone loves the results! My favorite feature includes the ability to create professional-grade photographs that look EXACTLY like me ✨
Downloaded, uploaded after half an hour the photos cause it always crashed the upload process. Same like Vana AI; after paid and get the results wasn't satisfied at all, had to ask for refund from Google purchases. Two stars because didn't test on dogs or cats
Awesome app! I use it for all my socials, even for my Linkedin profile picture. Definitely use it if you're not a big selfie person 🕺🏻
I downloaded the app and was asked to upload 25 personal photos. However, I found out that payment was required to test the capability, despite it being advertised as free with in-app purchases. A review in April by Ariel Weinberger detailed the same situation, with Retreat stating they would clarify upfront that payment was needed. However, it's now July and there was still no indication of payment being required until after uploading the photos and reaching the payment screen.
