That's been some time since the release, but I found myself coming back to the app time and time again. Let me comment on what I like about this app:
* it is free
* it is bullet pointy
* comes in 1-2 minute snippets
* has any book you want
I once paid for Headway and realized that it does not meet my needs. I tried Blinkist, but it was just marginally better. Both apps try to retell the book's contents in 15 minutes, which is too much time to transmit the point and too little to provide the context.
I feel like Summarist allows you to get the point fast, then you can decide if you need more context and nuisance enough to buy an actual book. This is exactly what I need.
Suggestions for improvement:
* improve user interface (simplicity is the right approach here, from my perspective, but it would be good to make the UI a bit less messy and make it look tiny bit more attractive, also make sure book covers are adhering to the same size)
* provide ratings from e.g. Goodreads; as this is just a one-minute view into the book, if I like the summary and want to read the whole book, I want to have other data points that would help me decide if the book is worthwhile. Some other ideas would be to have the age of the book (published X years ago)
* allow to collect my favourite summaries (even without an account, I'd find it useful even if those are in local storage)
* make categories browsable, summarist does not show many book suggestions at the bottom of the site.
