Jira

I have a 'love and hate' relationship with Jira. At the same time you can't find any other complete tool such as Jira, its lack of capabilities makes me nervous. So basically they try to compensate it with 3rd party apps which you have to pay for.

I have been using Jira for my project management and collaboration for quite some time now, and I must say that it has improved a lot in recent years. The overall experience has been good, and it has helped me in streamlining my work and managing tasks effectively. However, I believe that the interface could be made more visual and show context-based information to make it even more user-friendly. Overall, Jira has been a reliable tool for managing projects and collaborating with team members.

Really love it.

A short story. I had my entire side projects road-mapped and planned. Had a good chunk of internal documentation, server configurations, dotfiles, and scripts, all in well-organised Confluence spaces. Took a few months break. Atlassian sent a few emails about inactivity, which landed in my spam folder. Missed it. They deleted all my work. Never again in my life, will I use JIRA for my personal projects.

I appreciate Jira and enjoy using it overall. However, there are a few elements that can be confusing, such as the title and summary of an epic which can be easily mixed up. The versioning of user stories is another aspect that can be quite complicated. It's challenging to revert to a previous version. It remains an indispensable tool for the organization of our tech team.
