Wow that looks great, been saying for years that's what PH should have tried to build instead of the 'chat room'... anyway i'm very interested to join, just curious is there any french people part of the community so far?

By day I work as a UX Researcher and love making products, but my true passion is community building. Let me tell you why I started the community that I myself really wanted:
š± The challenge
Bootstrapping is hard. Itās even harder on your own.
When I started building side projects (to someday escape my day job), I didnāt know anyone else doing it. This meant I:
ā Made common mistakes that couldāve been avoided.
ā Took a long time to make progress, getting blocked often.
ā Lacked structure, motivation and encouragement.
ā Generally felt like I was on a lonely journey.
I thought 'there must be a better way.'

@ramlijohn Thanks Ramli! Well I'm looking to keep building the Americas time zone side of Weekend Club, and hopefully find another host. After that I'm hoping to start trialling 'Weekday Club' - for full-time founders who want to work during the week. Also, the pod we recorded is dropping. Should be a good few weeks!
Best thing about Weekend Club is that it gently keeps you accountable and aligned with your goals. Congratulations @charlierward and thank you for your hard work supporting the London startup community.

I've been a member of many communities, but never anything like Weekend Club.
Community building is a full-time job. The community builder behind it all needs to spend time onboarding and nurturing each and every user.
@charlierward puts in the work and has built something special. This is the best investment I made in myself within the past 5 years.

Another Weekend Clubber here. How valuable is this community, you ask? I was waking up at 5am EST so I didn't miss the kick off meetings every Saturday at 8am GMT. And now Weekend Club is in US timezones!

Iāve been part of the London indie hacker community since Charlie ran IndieBeers (back when we could enjoy pubs) and has been extremely satisfying seeing him launch an IRL Weekend Club in late 2019, and then pivoting to our current format when the pandemic forced many business models to change.
The Weekend Club community has had the single biggest impact on my life in the past 2 years and is a place I genuinely feel like I belong. Everyone is supportive and helpful, giving me feedback, advice and encouragement where I need it. If it wasnāt for Weekend Club I wouldnāt have made any progress on any of my side projects and certainly wouldnāt have launched my Indie Bites podcast.
The weekend sessions are incredibly helpful and I've even had the pleasure of being a regular host for both our UK and US cohorts. I can't wait to see this grow and thrive.
Iāve genuinely met some lifelong friends through Weekend Club and will continue to do so as more people join the community!

I joined a few months ago and LOVE IT. This awesome community has got me through loads of dips and helped me celebrate successes whilst bootstrapping. If you're a solo founder I can't think of a better ROI for your mental health & network. It's really fun too. Congrats on the launch @charlierward - you're killing it!

Another Weekender here... Weekend Club is such a part of my life now, my friends know at the weekends I'll be "Doing Hackers" and throughout the week we're all generally on Slack helping each other out or just hanging out.
It's been a lifeline for both Indie Hacking development *and* human contact in the pandemic. I think it's safe to say we've all built up some great friendships over this time, and we support each other's challenges, root for each other's launches, and celebrate each other's wins.
And when all this is over, we'll be drinking beers again like we used to do (as this used to be an IRL meetup, and may be again one day)

I've been a Weekend Club member since the end of December and I'm just annoyed I hadn't joined earlier.
Being a part of this group has been incredibly valuable in helping me build my product and build momentum. I would agree with @jmckinven in saying it's had the single biggest impact.
How so? For me, specifically:
- Since joining, I've learned something from other members at least on a weekly basis (growth, product, design and loads more).
- The diversity of founders and range of businesses is amazing.
- There's always someone who's just a few steps ahead which means you can learn from their successes as well as failures.
- Everyone I've met so far is extremely generous with their time if you need help running through specific problems.
- There's no pressure to commit to anything. It's a club - not a cult!
I'm impressed at what @charlierward has put together and super humbled to be part of this community!
@sarwechs I'm so glad you decided to join us, you've made a huge impact in a short space of time. Can't wait to see Nocodelytics keep going to the moon and back!
Charlie is an amazing community builder and is doing an incredible job with Weekend Club. If you're bootstrapping your company and want to be immediately plugged into a network of motivated, supportive, and inspiring founders, the Weekend Club is where you need to be!

Weekend Club has become a wonderful ritual for me, every Saturday I'm working on my Open Source side projects, and every week @charlierward and the other weekenders are there keeping me accountable for my goals! The Slack group is also a great place to ask for advice and share each other's wins! Would recommend.
