Hi Product Hunters! 👋 We’re so excited to share the Tillful Card with the PH community today. We have been working on this SMB product for the last 9 months and built the entire product from the ground up. We have also realized the fintech adage that launching debit cards is easy and credit cards are the opposite, is no joke :) After launching the Tillful app in 2021, we began to realize that there was such a huge gap in the market for a dedicated SMB credit card that builds credit and also offers rewards. Historically, credit building cards (secured cards) are an afterthought for issuers and fintechs and if available, rarely offer rewards programs or perks. We really believe that it’s very easy to make money when you have money and build credit if you have credit. We are committed to changing that. Tillful’s business is rooted in credit risk through alternative data. We use alternative data to more accurately assess a borrower’s risk profile using ML/AI approaches to better serve both lenders and borrowers tapping into not only open banking, but also open underwriting. Democratization of the business credit system is at the heart of all of our efforts and we’re so excited to bring the Tillful Card to the masses. Especially at a time when small businesses need it more than ever and a lot of fintechs seem to be moving up the credit stream and no longer servicing them. We selected a couple of different key partners to bring the card to life—for our embedded finance/BaaS partner, we tapped the Highnote team for their deep card and payments domain experience. We also ended up deciding to go with Mastercard over Visa. Both of these partnerships were really based, ultimately, on their commitment to small businesses as well as a more inclusive financial future.
