Spot is a geographic video sharing app that finds and shares undiscovered places across the globe. Recorded videos will automatically be pinned on the map without manually tagging them. Start sharing — your ordinary life can be someone else’s extraordinary.

Hello Product Hunters 👋 Have you ever stumbled looking through endless reviews and filtered images of restaurants or sightseeing spots when visiting a new city? Or due to the global pandemic, your love for traveling has been postponed, but you still want to see the “real” life of THAT country you daydream until the next visit. With Spot, you can browse videos found in places that you dream of, feel nostalgic, or never heard of.Spot is here to help you explore in times of unordinary. Hi, I am Tyler, and I am a mobile app developer finding app-developing as my “healthy” guilty pleasure (while secretly hoping one of my apps will someday reach 1 million download😎). This Global Pandemic has been tough, making traveling a long past memory. How about taking a virtual tour through Spot? There are fascinating and real-life videos posted from all over the world to share the experience. On my daily walks around the neighborhood, I thought of how great it would be to share my unknown, yet beautiful and lively, neighborhood to people around the world. Not just sharing, but also discovering fascinating places I yet know at the same time. Spot allows users to record a short video, which gets automatically pinned on a map when uploaded. Videos are available anytime for users to discover more. . Here are two ways to enjoy Spot (and of course more!) : 🏠 Discovering hot spots near you: I have walked gazillion steps around my neighborhood since covid — only options we have mostly, right? During my daily walks, I found hundreds of amazing places including cafes, tasty local restaurants, and a park with abundant greenery. By posting these scenic views on Spot, I can maybe inspire someone who is looking for a nice restaurant for dinner in the same area. Even for the future travelers, Spot can be your inspiration travel board — Say if you ever visit Tokyo, don’t forget to visit my favorite restaurant in Shinagawa! 🌎 Going on a virtual journey across the globe: In spring, you can see the fully-bloomed cherry blossoms in Kyoto; watch the craze of Miami parties; In fall, play the cheering Oktoberfest in Germany; and in winter view the aurora in Norway from your home. Everyday, there will be new discoveries somewhere in the world, igniting our curiosity to discover more. Thanks to users who have already posted videos, we have already a collection of amazing videos from all over the world. These are just mere examples of adventuring with Spot, and I’m sure there are millions more to be creative. How would you use Spot? You can find the github repo here https://github.com/dshukertjr/spot Any feedback is welcomed and greatly appreciated. You can also reach out to me on twitter at https://twitter.com/dshukertjr 🙌 Lastly, special thanks to Flutter and Supabase teams for creating a smooth development experience 🚀

Hi Tyler, I'm very happy to hear that idea, great implementation and very nice UI 👏👏 I think this is a good starter point. Can't wait to see new feature your app. And also I want to hear that from you, how we can support for Spot, can you give more detail about contribution. We are happy to be here for be support to Spot...
Tyler Shukert
@enes_inan Thank you so much! I will do my best to bring more features to the app as soon as possible! One thing I really want to do is background music. I hope to add that feature within the coming month. In terms of contribution, your willingness to support Spot is already beyond what I can ask for, but I would work on a better readme.md page on the repo to make it easy for people to contribute! Right now, the repo is a bit messy, and not very friendly for anybody looking to contribute. I will try to make it cleaner so that any people willing to help will know what to do!
Brian Yun
