Turn your podcast listeners into an engaged community. As a podcaster, Repod Communities brings together your podcast discussions, memberships, and growth into one central place — the Repod podcast app.
I've always been interested in the community and social opportunity in podcasting, but no company has really broken out. Why do you think that is, @travisosterhaus?
@rrhoover Oooo thats a hard hitting question. We've been at this for a few years now and our biggest learning was that listeners have a unique trust in what the podcasters/hosts have to say. There are some massive podcast communities on Facebook Groups and Patreon. Listeners join those communities because hosts will mention those platforms in almost every episode they release. So, we believe that to truly make podcasts social then it starts with a place that podcasters can monetize, engage, and grow their community from. When a podcaster loves us, we basically get free advertising because they mention their Repod community in their podcast episodes. I think other social/community podcast platforms missed out on this opportunity.
The last couple of months we've partnered with 30-40 podcasts in the True Crime and Film review genre who already had FB/Patreon communities. We’ve been seeing success with them and it’s been a real joy helping connect the hosts with their listeners.
@emmettapps@mijustin Oh sweet! I'd be so interested to get your feedback on what we've built. Love what you do at transitor.fm. Any time someone needs a new host I usually recommend you.
A platform to meet podcast hosts and listeners is a real problem for a long time. You publish your episodes into the wild and then it is hard to hear back from the audience. Hope you could fix it for good. Congrats, good luck!
@milkers 1000% and if you build your community on Facebook Groups or Patreon it's a closed-off ecosystem so you're not going to get the benefit of growing new listeners
✌️ Hey it’s Travis, cofounder of Repod, along with @emmettapps
Last year our fascination was learning how podcasters build their listener communities. Most podcasters use a stack of platforms: Facebook Groups, Discord, Patreon, and etc.
We learned this setup has a few problems:
- Facebook Groups & Discord didn't help podcasters grow new listeners, nor could they monetize these communities
- Patreon helps you monetization, but it lacked social engagement and discussions
- Listeners had to manage multiple apps/platforms to connect with their favorite hosts while listening to podcasts
So, we built Repod Communities, a way for podcasters to turn their listeners into a community by bringing together podcast discussions, memberships, and growth into one central place. Repod Communities is like Facebook Groups meets Patreon, but inside the Repod podcast app.

Best podcast app on the market. No better way to discover new podcasts as well as finding the best snippets from otherwise long podcasts. Love everything about it!!
