I had a chance to see this product in preview, and found it a very impressive writing tool, with a ton of potential. If you've been using Yoast or another product to optimize your content for Google, this one's worth a look -- it's bigger than that: distraction-free-writing meets smart suggestions for SEO and beyond.

@randfish Needed a new SEO friendly writing tool. Looking forward to test driving this. Now I just need to get some more time to blog in my schedule.
Moin Uddin
Yes! Finally, it's on PH. Have been waiting for this day for so long. ✨⚡️🎉
Alexander De Ridder
@moinism Right?! Thank you for being here on Launch Day!
Artur Maklyarevsky
nice looking fwd to trying this out. Would be also nice to see actuall Before & After case-studies on your site ;-)
Alexander De Ridder
@arturmakly Hi Artur, thank you so much for checking out INK today. We are working on case studies and a massive data study which we hope to release. We'll let our INK users know when it's up & running. Many of our beta clients are large enough to require NDA agreements, but suffice to say we are very confident to release at this time :-) If you have any questions, feel free to ask!
Alexander De Ridder
@arturmakly we just grew our blog from 400 visitors a month to almost 50,000 visitors a month in 90 days using INK.
Artur Maklyarevsky
ok so why isn't this a full 100% in-line WP plugin? Cause the last thing i need is another app to download, learn and install. What i would like is the magic happening inside my WP post..as i draft it there ;-)
Alexander De Ridder
@arturmakly Hi Artur, it would mean we have to process all the scraping, parsing, reading, AI modeling in the cloud. In other words, INK would not be free. Also, WordPress is not the only CMS in the world. INK aims to be compatible with all websites. We've tried our best to make it very easy to learn, with tutorials, knowledge base, chat support and in-app feedback, and we are working on even better integration options for the future.

INK for Chrome helps me to write clearly and effectively
Dustin W. Stout
I also have gotten the chance to work with INK for the last month or two and have been super impressed. I'm a UI/UX nut too, so beyond just working exceptionally well (which it does) I need a beautiful interface to work in--the team behind INK has done a great job. It is also worth noting that their team is super responsive--responding to and implementing feedback very quickly.
Alexander De Ridder
@dustinwstout Dustin!!! So happy to see you here! Thank you for your comment. You deserve a ton of praise for all the help in our Beta. Your feedback helped to inspire so many improvements and features, tweaks! Glad to see you here (did you share INK with your friends, now you finally don't have to keep it secret, lol!). To anyone reading this: Dustin is amazing!
Dustin W. Stout
@adridder thanks! Just dropped a little more feedback (purely design oriented) via the feedback form. Amazing work on the product.
Alexander De Ridder
@dustinwstout Thank you Dustin! We checked it out and you shared some great ideas!
Alexander De Ridder
@dustinwstout We'll have a surprise for you very soon ;-)
Parker Ituk
@adridder any plans for a web version? Also, do you have use-cases that the API could be used for?
Parker Ituk
Is there a plugin for non-wordpress users, like an API or script?
Alexander De Ridder
@parkerituk Hi Parker. We offer many export options from the File menu which makes it possible to get your content out of INK and onto your site, and are working on an integrations API. Thank you for using INK!
Alexander De Ridder
@parkerituk Hi Parker, just an update on your comment: export plugin API will be launched later this week via an INK update. You can see our documentation here: https://inkcontent.github.io/dev...#
Ignacio Herreros
Hi. Free is good. And the amount of features is impressive. But may I ask, how do you plan to make money from this? Thanks
Alexander De Ridder
@iherreros Hi Ignacio, we're planning to keep INK free, and release paid upgrades for entirely new features that don't exist in INK today.
Pat Eskinasy
Congrats on the launch! Very excited as I try it out! Are code blocks in the works?
Alexander De Ridder
@celue Hi Pat, Kairi showed me your twitter message about this and it really gave us a good laugh this morning! We'll add it to our backlog and think about how to best approach this.
Sarah Evans
I have been working with and using INK for the past three months. It has changed the way I want to write. By that I mean: 1. A distraction free writing environment is now a must — I even write non-web content there. 2. I’m not an SEO person and this helps me balance the art of writing with the science of the web. 3. Forces me to know WHAT & WHO I’m writing for from the get go. Thank you to @adridder and team for creating something useful and that solves a very real problem — content creators and writers now have something that will give them an upper hand. It’s like driving with Waze , you can drive without it, but why would you?
Alexander De Ridder
@prsarahevans Thank you Sarah. Your kind words mean a lot to us.
Alex Bulat
@adridder INK for Windows is not working. When I run the app a black screen is all I have >> https://gyazo.com/f9e637b488f05e...
Alexander De Ridder
@bulat_alex Hi Alex, I will send you a private message with the email of someone on the dev team who can help.
JaneManthorpe
Wow! what can I say, but thanks so much for creating and sharing this SEO writing tool. this one magical tool and so beautifully designed and thought out. I have downloaded and went through the tutorial and its an amazing tool, totally recommend this
Alexander De Ridder
Hi @janemanthorpe , thank you so much for your warm and heartfelt recommendation! We're very happy to serve you and make INK better for content creators like you!
Hernán
Looks amazing, I like the "focus on writing still having lot of useful information" approach. @adridder I am curious about your decision to use and in favor of and . I would feel more comfortable if I could choose. Could you let us know why you decided to go with the (at least for a lot of folks) "less semantic" approach? Thanks!
Alexander De Ridder
@hmgauna Hi Hernán, maybe this whitepaper can explain more about how INK works (seo.app/whitepaper). INK uses semantic modeling for its scoring, and we are working on future pro versions of INK where we uncover more of the data. Our goal is to make things as easy as possible for writers, so there's quite a bit invisible smart analysis and decision making behind the scenes.
Brian Jackson
Interesting! How does it handle image file names if you were to do an import into WordPress?
Alexander De Ridder
@brianleejackson Hi Brian, at this time it would keep the original filename, but based on user feedback, we'll work on a feature to optimize filenames against your image meta.
Alfonso C. Betancort
Anyone using the App actually to write about something worth of reading instead filling the World with inane “content“.
Alexander De Ridder
@abetancort Thank you for your comment Alfonso. We hope you enjoy INK to write content worth reading and more people finding it!
Colby Fayock
Nicely polished! It would be cool if you could integrate features like http://www.hemingwayapp.com/ where it's not only SEO factors, it tries to help the writing quality generally, beyond the composition that already exists. One bummer I found is the marketing email I just received as a welcome doesn't let you unsubscribe :/ (that = spam)
Alexander De Ridder
@colbyfayock Hi Colby! Thank you for your feedback! 1. INK does reading grade level different than Hemingway 1.a We look at the highest performing content for your keyphrase, and create an opinion about what writing difficulty your audience will resonate with. 1.b If your content is too difficult, we'll call it out. We won't interrupt you if your text is good. 1.c. If you have sentences that are too difficult for your audience, we'll call it out and let you highlight them in the text, so you know how to fix it. 2. INK does passive voice / adverbs different than Hemingway. Big philosophical difference ... passive voice & adverbs are part of language. Hemingway imposes 'rule-based' limits, but science writing is not like poetry writing. INK instead researches the competition for any given target keyphrase and finds out what kind of language your audience engages with. Our recommendations are based on that, to help you maximize engagement, and in line with our non-interruption design principle we're only going to show you a task if there's something to improve upon. 3. Check out the Text Composition Tool! (Alt+T on Windows) 4. The welcome email Sorry, our unsubscribe feature wasn't ready on time for the launch 😥, but it will be ready next week. If you would like to unsubscribe, let me know, we can take you off!
Colby Fayock
@adridder oh thats great then, i didnt see anything like that in the landing page or video, only the things like SEO analysis, wordcount, verb count, etc, and i only poked around with the writing a bit so maybe it wasn't obvious yet. thanks for the overview of how that works, that sounds well thought out. the Text Composition Tool is what I saw, but I guess I was hoping for more of a reading difficulty. i pasted one of my past blog posts in there just now and i found the hard to read part after a little digging, which i found after the analysis and under "word tasks". would appreciate you taking me off :) no hard feelings, just more interested in playing with the app, not the newsletter
Alexander De Ridder
@colbyfayock Sure thing Colby. INK is different, but you'll end up loving that it is ADHD friendly in a way that you only see what you need to act on - when you want to - at any point in time. PS: I've asked the devs to take you off the onboarding email flow as soon as possible. Note that you might still get app-use/functional emails in the future (we've also not implemented this yet) but by that time, they will come with detailed subscription settings. My Linkedin & Twitter is @adridder. Contact me personally if you have any future concerns. Email stuff is new functionality and I hope we get it right the first release, but if we don't, I want to make sure you know I'm here and care about respecting your preferences!
Taylor Wegner
I've been using INK for a few months now. I am no SEO pro, just an occasional blogger. While I'm still getting the hang of a 90+ 'relevance score' I've really enjoyed integrating INK with my regular blogging workflow. It's like something between a helpful mentor and gamified encouragement.
Alexander De Ridder
@taylor_wegner Thank you for your review Taylor! Make royal use of the Feedback button in the app and let us know what you're missing, so we can keep making it better for you and our users!
Peter Shankman
I. Am. In. LOVE with this tool. OMG, where has it been all my life? Simply works, and works SO well. It's become a daily use tool for me. Hate seeing it up here because now more people will find it! But seriously - INK is an amazing tool. So incredibly needed and useful!
Michael Umansky
@peter_shankman thank you for all of your support! Always appreciate your feedback as we have been building INK. You are an awesome INKfluencer.
Alexander De Ridder
@peter_shankman Wow .. love your podcast on ADHD! Thank you so much for your comment!

No privacy policy? For a free app that seems to be sending to content to the cloud, this sets off an alarm. The lack of a mention about Edgy Labs or whatever `seo.app` is makes it seem even more like it's just bait.
Alexander De Ridder
@coreyward Hi Corey, thank you for using INK. Privacy policy can be found on A) our website inkforall.com B) inside the INK app in two different locations (left & right sidebar, near the log in buttons), C) A webpage where you are prompted to review privacy policy / terms before signing in. Edgy Labs is mentioned in the privacy policy. Quote: "Edgy Labs, LLC and its subsidiary INK Content, Inc." Not sure what your question is? As for seo.app, is not a company, just a domain from which we serve our APIs. Some queries also come from aws servers. Content you write in INK is analyzed by our AI which lives in the cloud, which sends the results back to the INK client. How would you architect it so that low powered computers can run the powerful AI analysis locally? And if you could bypass the cloud, would you put your proprietary and patented AI in a free product ready to download by your competition to copy? Every web application processes data in the cloud. There is nothing mysterious about it.
Corey Ward
@adridder I reviewed the privacy policy and it seems inadequate. It fails to include language germaine to the use case, notably the content that you collect and metadata around that information. It does not, for example, tell me how privileged/confidential content and the metadata (title, etc) drafted in your application is stored, who has access to it, or how it might be used now or in the future. As a developer, the claims you're making about AI and copying are goofy. An AI model in a deployed product is not any more hardware intensive to run than a manually developed algorithm. Large server farms are typically used as a way to speed up the training process, which takes the bulk of the time; they're not used to actually evaluate every query against the compiled model. Second, we've been compiling and deploying proprietary software for a long time now—do you really think that every application on your computer is effectively open source? In any case, I'm not suggesting that your software run entirely client side, only that, given the volume and nature of sensitive information you are collecting combined with the access a native application has to the filesystem. you do a better job making privacy and communication of privacy expectations a priority.
Alexander De Ridder
@coreyward Hi Corey, I appreciate that you care about privacy, so do I. It’s a topic we continue to discuss here at our company. As a self-funded, bootstrapped company we made a policy which provides the widest possible legal protection. The idea was to make this an evolving policy. We want to hear from users on concerns. Thank you for your feedback. Thank you for your input on software architecture. Lots went into how/why we built the product the way we did. Happy to have a conversation privately if that is something you would like. This is not the appropriate forum. Feel free to email me.
