Is Twitter dying?

Most SaaS owners use Twitter as their primary marketing channel. Do you think it still makes sense? Or is it the right moment to start looking for an alternative platform?

Twitter does not seem to be dying. Twitter has a large user base of over 300 million monthly active users and continues to be a popular platform for sharing news, information, and opinions. Yes it is facing some major changes but I don't think so personally.

Not dying, but getting harsher for makers...

@charlie_lee1 feel you, we are getting trouble with their new API policy. Offtop, got notified for Hummmin, may all the forces and luck be with you.

Definitely not. It's only getting interesting, at least for me.

Everyone who was once born will someday die. I see Facebook's audience stagnating more than Twitter's

Absolutely not. Twitter is changing its business model. I'm not a fan of Musk, but Twitter won't die until Musk dies

Definitely not, I think that twitter is renewing itself from its bases!

Elon Musk fired developers, made the API cost $100 / month instead of being free (lowering drastically number of bots while making💰), made the code open-source so it's getting fixed for free - we can say whatever we want, these are some genius moves ahah

No way ;) 'Twitter seems to be dying' they said a year ago, and 7 years ago, etc. Some recent changes might be called a bit of controversy, despite that I believe that it's harder to kill twitter than it seems, with its evergreen core audience, community spirit and tons of local jokes.

Why do you think that? I've only just started sharing on Twitter, but so far it seems like a friendly environment

Of course not

Definitely not! It seems to be getting a little more exciting.

No. In my opinion, it's getting more niche, there're certain communities where you get (pushed) in to, whether it is by the algorithm or not. But it's getting more alive every week.

It's not totally dying, but it's taking a hit. After a rough patch, Twitter bounced back in 2019 and seemed to find its groove. But now, with the changes in management new issues have appeared like wonky searches, questionable content (porn & brawls), lousy recommendations, the must pay route they are taking and glitchy basic features. Fingers crossed they sort it out, or we might be hunting for new platforms

I don't think so. Instead, I think more people are using it now than before.
