Doppler Share is an easy way to share one-off secrets in a simple end-to-end encrypted way where the links auto-expire after a certain number of views and days.
Hey PH,
Brian here - you may remember me from Doppler's last launch: https://www.producthunt.com/post...
Since our launch, we have heard that there needs to be a more secure way to share one-off secrets. It is understandable as using Slack, SMS, and email leads to those secrets living unencrypted in those systems forever.
This brings me to Doppler Share, a new product we are launching today!
It is an easy way to share one-off secrets (ex: API-keys, passwords, credit cards, coupons, wire info, lockbox codes, etc) in a simple end-to-end encrypted way where the links auto-expire after a certain number of views and days. All the encryption is done browser-side so our servers never see the raw secret or the encryption key.
We built this so anyone can use it immediately without needing to create an account or jump through any hoops.
Try it out: https://share.doppler.com/s/riwl...
Would love to hear what you guys think!
Great little tool, thanks for building :) Recorded my own experience using it for the first time in case it's helpful- https://app.usebubbles.com/otuJ5...
Will be sharing this with our team!
My whole team has been using this for the past 6 months or so, can't imagine how we were ever productive before!
Can you believe we used to send each other 1password links with env variables?!
If you're working on any dev team > 2 people, especially if you're using Heroku you need this.
Super handy tool, especially with Slack's integration! We often need to share some secrets and keys in the team, and sending it via Slack always felt like the wrong thing to do. Great job!
Been a fan of what doppler are doing for a while! I usually shares secrets using private github gists which I manually delete, this is way easier and more secure!
Love this! Now I can use a company I already to trust to quickly share passwords and other credentials with my coworkers. No more creating a temporary entry in our password manager app and then explaining how to find it. ππ
@franklin_davenport you can also share directly from Doppler's secrets manager as well. If you hover over a secret, you will find a new "SHARE" button.
