Depends. If the product has already been validated: We launch on Product Hunt to get the badge which acts as social proof on my landing page. If the product is not yet validated: We use Product Hunt to get feedback and sales for my product.

We launched some products to get feedback and some to get new users.

Honestly, just recognition. We have a user base already, and most Product Hunt users/viewers are likely not our targeted user, although we may get a few which is great. But just to showcase our platform, create a launch where our supporters can come out and support us, and we really want that POTD/W badge to make our community proud. The most important thing for us is to validate our ideas in order to make a pivot in time, if necessary. Product Hunt is a good place to get feedback and first customers.
