Question for those who write newsletters. ✉️
What kind of incentive or reward did you offer in exchange for the email?
I suppose many of you have some banner that pushes people to sign up for your newsletter. What else?
Can you share your approach, strategies and the most effective technique in this matter?

Casper Brix@casper_brix
Typically, I offer some sort of reward/gift.
This can be stuff like:
1) A free PDF guide to achieve X
2) A free video presentation where the person can learn Y
Curious about what others are doing?

@casper_brix if you talk about reward in marketing you could surely love what i'm trying to launch, i would love some feedback.
@casper_brix Thanks for the attention! https://www.shockwaveofficial.com/

@casper_brix Hi, Casper – regarding those magnets: do you have any other metrics about those users? Such as views that the video presentation has and real downloads/reads of PDFs. Because I also sign for something but not every time read those things :D
What about a service provider for emails? Which one do you use?
@busmark_w_nika I use emailoctopus for one company and Drip for another. I have no preferred solution.
True, it's difficult to measure the effect of the actual offering. I try to measure the next step of the process. E.g. magnet -> offering/gift -> lead sign up or sale
Then, I track the lead sign-ups or the sale

@casper_brix Thanks for sharing. This is interesting, I have heard about that service, but many people use Beehiiv. Do not have personal experience, because I am a Mailchimp user but wanna try those mentioned to know how it works. Regarding techniques: I usually try to "offer" some kind of very precious info in the mail as well.
Google Ads, Instagram Ads, X ads and especially my next platform!

@gionata_capasso Did you have any specific targeting attribute for behaviour segmentation?
@busmark_w_nika "Yeah, of course depends on your target audience and the identikit of your ideal customer. In my experience i've tailored my targeting approach specifically for the social media marketing field. I mainly focus on content creators, influencers, and brands looking to boost their engagement. I use interest-based targeting to connect with users who are really into social media contests, giveaways, and raffles. Plus, I segment audiences based on their past interactions with similar content or their purchasing behaviors related to online marketing and promotions. About the reward to incetives, you could offer something that put them pressure to get it immediately, like a digital product ( Like a notion page or template with a personal guide, personal strategy, whatever you want) or a special discount for some product you are affiliate with and everything with a limit of time.
@gionata_capasso I hit the notify me button and would love to support and will love it if you could do that same.

@gionata_capasso Good insight! I am trying to think of any solution if it would be somehow applicable to B2B sector as there are bigger budgets :D
Offering valuable incentives like exclusive content or discounts in exchange for email sign-ups has significantly boosted my connection rate.
You can scrape GitHub repos for emails 😅 relevant link: https://nelson.cloud/scrape-cont...
@busmark_w_nika What do you mean? avoid what part? using a script or the practice of scraping?
minimalist phone: creating folders
@sentry_co the part of scraping and then email those people who would be "surprised" what's going on. It is normally labelled as spam because they haven't agreed with such things as receiving the regular newsletter. But at least, you can try.
@busmark_w_nika Oh yeah for sure. If you mass send random email's they will stop going through at some point anyways. Global spam networks are very sensitive now days. But that's a separate problem. You asked for emails. I guess what you are really asking is. How do you get newsletter signups. I would say: Make something people want. A strong differentiator. I don't think there is a quick fix here. And think niche that can expand. Something people care a lot about that they can't get any other way or other place. Like time-sensitive insider stock tips.
minimalist phone: creating folders
@sentry_co well, that's why I specified in the description that it is related to newsletter purposes. Next time, I will incorporate it into the title if there is space for that. Good to know.
@busmark_w_nika Question "How do you build your newsletter mailing list?" or "How do you get people to signup to your newsletter?" But to be honest. I think the more "ominous" 😈 "How to you scrape emails" is more viral 🥶 altho you will get ominous answers I suppose
you can also scrape emails from LinkedIn via getprospect.com I use this many times a day.
@sentry_co that website is gold. thanks for sharing.
Do you also use Apollo or Sales Navigator? If yes, what is your experience with those?
@filippo_calabrese I probably will at some point, but I think I need to build more reputation, so if LinkedIn decides to "shadow-limit" me I can revert their decision. I just joined LinkedIn one year ago. What about you?
@filippo_calabrese In the age of AI. I think rate limits will limit these automated tools. So yeah building aa strong brand and being personal might come back in fashion very soon.
The most effective technique I've used to collect email addresses has been offering high-value, exclusive content that requires an email for access. This not only incentivizes sign-ups but also ensures that the audience is genuinely interested in what we have to offer.
User sign up which comes with some gift credits.
minimalist phone: creating folders
@salar__davari What kind of credits did you offer and how many leads did you have from those?
minimalist phone: creating folders
@yukioyama Wow. Did 100 people subscribe? Or even more? Where can I register? :D
@busmark_w_nika Yeah! It took a while though lol! We built the waitlist on https://smartrazor.ai/
@busmark_w_nika Thank you so much! Would mean the world if you would also consider notifications for our PH launch here (https://www.producthunt.com/prod...). Also Nika thanks just in general for sharing that Simon Sinek video, I actually incorporated it into my marketing video (which you'll see soon!!) for my product hunt launch. Instead of just focusing on the pain point & problem being solved, I threw in my story + why I made this product as well! Genuinely, that video changed the course of how i approached the PH launch so super thankful for that.

@yukioyama You are welcome, I hit the Notify Me button. Regarding videos: The TED speakers have many valuable content to share. If you need more inspiration, try to snap me on LI :D
@busmark_w_nika Thank you! Honestly, please send them my way I’ll make sure to watch all of them! Maybe not this week since super busy up to launch, but definitely next week!
Give something to Get something in return.
Free info products and template file usually works very well foo my agency so far
minimalist phone: creating folders
@filippo_calabrese what is your agency about? Because I have only found your personal web? https://filippocalabrese.com/
Without a doubt, it's been giving away something for free. At least that's how I've got my over 24,000 email subscribers
Marketing-savvy folks would call this a lead magnet :) I call it something of real value. Something of genuine value to my target audience. Give, give, give :)
minimalist phone: creating folders
What have you usually used as that freebie? @ohansemmanuel
@busmark_w_nika I'm a writer - so that's usually free books / a 5-day email series with awesome content etc.
@ohansemmanuel 24000 email subscribers?? That is so awesome! How long have you been building this list Ohans?
@yukioyama NGL I've been writing for at least 7 years. So give or take, I reckon at least 5 years 😅 and most of my subscribers come from giving away something for free. Something of value.
FWIW, I'm also off most social media apps. So, I don't really get subscribers from there.
@ohansemmanuel that is so sick! Way to stay consistent over that stretch of time, no small feat! Are you planning to launch your product to your list as well?
I offer a discount code for my online store as an incentive.
It's a win-win because subscribers get a discount, and I get to promote my products.
minimalist phone: creating folders
@shanonlewisss Do you have any stats on how many people used that code?
User magnets are the most effective technique to collect email addresses, HubSpot is the prime example of this.
minimalist phone: creating folders
@jaxon_smith3 What do you mean by HubSpot? Do they have any special lead magnets?
@busmark_w_nika for newsletters, we mainly collect emails in exchange for some valuable content.
Do not have something unique to share, just getting the knowledge people have shared here :)
