In 2008, an App called "I Am Rich" with similar intent got removed from the AppStore without explanation. The purpose was to show other people that they were able to afford it with a price of US$999.99. The app got so much attention at that time and also the attention of Flipboard afterward to hire him full time. "Interesting Concept"
