Well the reason they didn't want to get featured is they didn't see a compelling reason to do so.
I've seen that many successful podcasters first created content on their own / built an initial audience and then used that audience to persuade people to get featured. Basically saying something like: "Hey X, we have Y listeners interested in Z, would you like to talk?"
It would be helpful if...

Hey Falak, nice list. I found that many founders don't focus on making it easy for people to provide a feedback. First of all, they make their feedback questions WAY too long. Instead of simply asking: "Did you like the product so far?" Yes/No, they write: "Hey X, we're always looking to improve our product so can you please spend 2 seconds to answer the question: Did you like our product so...

I may be old school, but I use the built-in todo list in Windows 10 + a simple timer and time my work for 60 mins.
Any schedule/time management tools?

I haven't seen this a lot. Usually marketers receive royalty options, because they do consistent work which eventually turns into new users.
Should designers receive royalties?

You'll eventually want to launch on both. If you don't have a pre-existing audience, you may want to consider AppSumo first (it should give you a surge of users and you'll prob learn tons on how they use the product). Then use that audience and launch on PH.
Where should we launch first, on AppSumo or ProductHunt?

Write something useful and people will be curious to check you out :) This is what worked for me (not many followers, but I've noticed a lot find me from replying here).
How do you make people following you here?

What's the last acquisition method that worked for you (but you didn't expect it would)?
Let me start first:
- Posting on a niche community forum (without an explicit mention of my product). People just clicked on my profile, checked my bio/product and signed up. So I've basically used curiosity, under-estimating the effort people would take to get curious and check out my profile.
What about you?

How many of your users come from "powered by" marketing?
I've been reading a lot of founder interviews and one of the main acquisition channels a lot of them mention is having some version of a "powered by" link on their customers' websites.
The most obvious example is live chat. Then widgets (one founder noticed that after a local newspaper started using their widgets, almost every competitor signed up).
Have you noticed something similar with...

Interest. I think this would be useful to apps that are growing (you could probably get such lists easily) and want to see more details. Also new apps that don't feel like coding their own app analytics (although they'd love to see what's going on once they get users).

Took a look at the webite. Is your plan to add various book lists over the long run (and rank on Google when people type keywords like "top X books for parents", for example?

Nice product. Wonder if you guys could also work on people actually getting in the habit of entering expiration dates (since it seems the pre-requisite for an app like this to work).

I love the fact I don't have to register in order to use this tool. So many founders here asking to enter my address and SSN in order to even start seeing what their product is about :)
