The key to building such communities is identifying the micro-niche that the business operates in and then identifying the 'painkiller' content for the audience. I strongly advice building 'public' communities over private communities - because private communities miss out on organic growth....

I believe the stage doesn't matter. It's all about knowing the language your audience speaks and then using words and tone that resonates with them. I really like PostHog - they use fun to sell their serious SaaS!

Domas - if you are looking to build a community on Discord, then I'd advise against it. Why should you listen to me? Well, I've spent 15 years of my life building large communities. My answer might be biased, but I'm building a community platform just to help people build better, self-growing communities that keep users engaged.

It's been just about 2 months on Twitter and ~1 week of being active on LinkedIn. The #buildinpublic seems to work really great on Twitter and I'm experimenting with different types of content on LinkedIn. I am planning to start building my business on LinkedIn.
