I've used this site for years to take quick scan tours of different programming languages before diving into them. It's great at presenting some code in a succinct way to understand the reserved tokens and key syntax differences in a given language.

Why is the slide deck designed like a website in the first place?

Just getting into it, but the book is great for people with an object oriented background. The barrier of entry for non-calculus types is low. Great book for beginners and veterans alike.
