Hello fellow makers!
Last week I refactored the entire app for https://tidyworkspace.com
Tidy workspace is a browser extension (chrome only - for now) that automatically groups your tabs into workspaces.
The new version is currently pending review in the chrome web store. It should hopefully be published in the next day or so based on how long other reviews have taken.
If you could check...

Hey fellow makers!
I'm building https://tidyworkspace.com - A browser extension that organizes your tabs into workspaces.
I built the MVP last week and it's currently under review in the Chrome Web Store. I created a video demo and posted it in this blog post on the site: https://tidyworkspace.com/blog/tidy-workspace-is-coming-soon
I haven't gotten around to updating the landing page yet -...

Hi friends!
This week I'm building the MVP for https://tidyworkspace.com
If you could give feedback on the landing page and the idea that would be super helpful!
I'm happy to return the favor in any way I can.
Thanks!

I'm trying to do this myself with https://polished.app
It can definitely feel overwhelming at times. I think the key is being organized and staying motivated. Setting and sticking to specific times for dev work, market research, and community building is important. Structure it all in a way that you won't get burnt out. Consistent work over a long period of time is how you'll get there.
I've...

This is awesome! Very simple and clean. Did you use a library for the editor functionality or build it yourself?

I think this is great! Thanks for sharing.
I would make the argument that we should be doing most of these things all the time. We should always talk about findings that can help right now but just have situational awareness. What helps someone right now is probably different than what it was 6 months ago. Always cut out unimportant content. Always try to align the value with what they expect...
With everything happening right now, what's your approach to content marketing? (Sharing mine below)

Hey there!
I checked out your website. My first impression of your landing page was that the color was a bit overwhelming. The box with the hero text is kinda hard to read with that half opacity. It feels like things are a bit crowded with all of the imagery. I would strive to add more blank space between elements and make your fonts a little smaller.
Beyond the visuals, I think the idea is...

It's absolutely possible. You'll just have to pick up vital experiences while launching your app instead of already having them from a job.
Having a job at an established company can expose you to common business functions so that if you go to interact with other businesses you know what to expect. This also depends on how good the job you have is. Some jobs will get you loads of great...

I'm currently doing this with my current project. The best part is that all the time spent using it acts as testing for the product. Using your own product is so important for understanding the flow and overall feel. I think this is termed "dogfooding" your own product because there was once an owner of a dog food company who would taste test all of the dog food.
On the other hand, it's...

I've thought about using them but haven't pulled the trigger yet. The Twitter audience is more resistant to ads than the other big social media platforms. This makes sense because it seems like a lot of the people on there make real connections with people. I've considered using the Twitter Promote mode to help grow my profile. I don't tweet enough yet to make that a good investment.

I love Firebase , which is part of Google cloud. It's great for auth, database, and cloud functions and has an insane free tier. I use Vercel (formerly Zeit) for hosting

@navinp I'm using convertkit for both newsletter and transactional emails using tags and automations. I don't really have any time sensitive transactional emails yet so it's been fine. I do think it's a bit slower to send than services that focus entirely on transactional emails.
I use convertkit because it's easy to use it for a few different products and the tagging and automations are...

@anna_golovchenko It really depends on what you want to focus on. Wordpress, and similar tools like Ghost, SquareSpace, Wix make it pretty easy to get a site set up and have pre-baked themes.
While webflow is a no-code product, it still has a small learning curve and will require more effort than any of those other options. The benefit is that you could end up with something more custom to...
I want to move my project (betterwiki.me) from Notion to another platform – what will you recommend?

I really believe that the future of web frameworks will be the compiler flavor like svelte that output really small js bundles. Even though it is a compiler, it respects javascript and doesn't create a bunch of it's own language elements.
It's amazing for building static sites like landing pages. You get nice framework abstractions without the huge bundle size overhead of other web frameworks....
