Do you like scary stories? 👻
I don't... because I haven't been able to find anything that tops Bram Stoker's Dracula ✟
I've been on a huge "classics" reading binge for the past few years, so when we started building LongShorts I got really excited about adapting classical literature to this new medium, including Dracula, here: https://www.readlongshorts.com/stories/dracula
We're also working...
LongShorts Stories
Long fictional stories told in short tweets on Twitter
LongShorts is like taking the cast of your favorite show and following their stories in real-time on Twitter.
• Each new "chapter" (aka status) fits into a few tweets
• Stories update in "real" time from the characters accounts
• They're ready to escape with you whenever you have a second!

Been a Hardbound reader since the early beta days. This is probably one of the only reading apps that I use as soon as I get a notification of the next story, each and every time. These stories are a true *pleasure* to read, and I'm so excited that they'll be paired with great books now :)

Hey everyone 👋
I wanted to let you know that we decided to shut down Only Rough Drafts for the time being.
While we are still very hopeful that a community for only the first / rough drafts of writing will provide a ton of value for writers, our team is focusing on some other problems to solve at the moment.
Thanks for all the support and please don't hesitate to get in touch if you're...

Listened to this fresh off the press a bit ago; Tim does great analyses of the tech scene in Japan. Highly recommended!

Hey @sandeepcasi, sweet product! As GIFs continue to grow into acknowledged media in their own right, it's cool to see a team focused on creating these from *other* media.
What are the big differences between how Videogram goes about the creation of GIFs versus how, for example, GIPHY does it?

I'm probably Poncho's worst user -- I don't live in the US atm, but still love checking my inbox for the emails, and now the app :)
So until they let weather cats on flights to Japan, I'll be using for the cute alarm and for keeping up with memes in the morning.

This is a really great podcast. Deborah Treisman interviews some of today's shining star authors in the context of readings of their favorite shorts from The New Yorker archives. Just the right amount of interview to keep you wanting to learn more about the author. The analysis of another piece from the guest is the best part -- there's something about *hearing* another author's review that...

For all you out there who love the Nerdist podcast, they bring the same creativity and awesome voice to their Writers Panel podcast as well! This one with one of the men responsible for my childhood, James L. Brooks of the Simpsons :)

Kobo Writing Life does a great job introducing both writers and -- as shown in this episode -- the tools, communities and other aspects of a writer's life. This one in particular is the quickest way to get introduced to Wattpad, a super active and interesting social network / community of writers (lots of short stories, fan fiction, etc.) and voracious readers.

This is just one recent episode I really liked, but The Creative Penn is basically the gold standard for writing podcasts. It's almost 250 episodes deep now so lots to catch up on for all the writers out there (LPT: it's great for creatives of any medium, not just writers!).
