Heya Product Hunters & fellow gardeners,
I've always planted my garden at the wrong time. Too early and a false Texas spring would take out my sensitive seedlings. Too late and the heat would fry things before I could get a good harvest. Ugh.
Turns out not everything can or should be planted at the same time. But I'm forgetful, so I needed something to remind me when to plant what. So I...

Heads up, the "visit" link isn't working for me. It seems like you need to add www to it :-)

For me, I have a hard time with social proof. It feels like a bit of a catch 22. I need users to get social proof and I need social proof to get users. Add on top of that I really hate cold outreach and often my products don't align with the things my friends and family are interested in. Most of the time I just land up putting it off, not asking for testimonials, and letting it die on the vine. 😢

I'm also kinda launching with little planning. Decided it was time to just put it out there. Figured not everyone on PH is my ideal audience, but it is practice to help with figuring out my messaging. 🤷♀️
I think you can launch every six months, so I'd say go for it again if enough time has passed and you've made a bunch of changes! What's the worst that could happen.
I launched without planning? Any tips

I like the site. I don't know much about bookkeeping except that I know I should be doing it. Would this work for someone who does business primarily online? Or is it more for in person type businesses with paper receipts and invoices?

Being confident my code isn't buggy enough to be distracting 😅🤪
Plus the psychological aspect of putting myself out there and not tying the success of the launch to my own personal well-being.
What was the most challenging part in launch for you?

I think so. Or have a good marketing team.
But I think there's less utility if your audience and your ideal customer don't really overlap. Sure, you'll get upvotes, but will you get customers?
do you need an audience to win in Product hunt?

Trying to figure out where I left off late-December and figuring out where to jump back in...probably with getting a big content piece I've been working on edited and ready to schedule.
How are you starting the first Monday of the year?

I'd tell myself to start small and work my way up.

I recently purchased the "self journal" from best self co and it's working out for me. I really just like having my to-dos on a physical list.

Maybe you could use jotform https://www.jotform.com/help/57-smart-forms-conditional-logic-for-online-forms or hack together a solution with zapier and other nocode tools?

I'd have a native english speaker go through and edit the page. There are a lot of phrases that don't make sense.
The first one is in the headline — "Struggling with marketing strategies that doesn't work?" It should be "Struggling with marketing strategies that don't work?".
Errors like that continue throughout the page and make me question the quality of the product.
Need feedback on my landing page indiehack.site

I'm still learning. Although I kinda learned a little bit of marketing first, then learned how to program, and am now trying to re-level up my marketing skills.
I really hate putting myself out there. I schedule 30 minutes every day to do marketing, comment on things, tweet, and generally promote my products. I really should up this to more like an hour a day.
I'm also working on some...
Any programmer turned marketer here?

I think it depends on what phase of your business you're in. For me right now, a feature should have be valuable to the customer and the customer should be willing to pay for it.
I just moved to a freemium model, so the features that get pushed to the top are ones that would help users convert to a paid plan and that provide some sort of 'delight'.
What is your best priority methods for new / old features?

I loved the book "hello my name is awesome". Her company also has a free tool to help with names. https://eatmywords.com/free-name-evaluation-test/
I think domains are important, but I don't think having one that's not one word is a deal breaker. There are plenty of tricks and add-on words you can use to find one that's available.
