Mr Alfred was my 5th grade teacher. I don’t remember a lot of teachers but he stands out for 2 reasons. There wasn’t a lot of men elementary teachers and he was a strong African American young man, so he stood out. He demanded respect, not for him as much as for the young girls in the class. He was harder on the boys, leading by example and requiring us to be gentlemen. He was a great role model.

I’m in the “dirty south” of the US, New Orleans, LA. Where we find an excuse to throw a party everyday and the culture and flavor changes from block to block. It is the true essence of decades of blended cultures living in synchronicity.

It always seems like dev is like owning a boat, you’re always fixing something in order to properly utilize the system. Creating new dev tools to match market trends becomes even trickier. On the other hand, I find marketing is having conversations with the right audience about their problem. The bigger challenge for me has always been dev.

I would probably have to say Rock and Roll. It has prevailed over time to stay somewhat consistent, so I would find comfort in that you would still get new options that followed the same style. Pop, Rap and country and changed a lot with the trends. I like them all, and adjust what I listen to depending on what I’m doing. Of course my workout music would have to change because I have very...

I think the best way to keep meetings productive is to limit their length to 15 minutes, and be sure have an agenda to keep focus. Generally whoever called the meeting needs to be prepared.

That’s pretty broad. ChatGPT is a good place to start and learn about AI, but over the past 10 months there have been a lot of software companies that are using the AI system to create platforms specific to your needs. My advice would be to figure out what problems you want to solve, then ask the question again based on finding that solution using AI. Good luck!

Make sure you label and put descriptions using relevant keywords on every image and video on your website. Even the file name of that image is another opportunity to create a keyword reference.

Prioritizing tasks and staying focused. I have to preset calendar times to get stuff done and ignore calls, emails, and any notifications. If I can create 45 minute focused “sprints” with 15 minutes of checking alerts or just taking a walk, I’m much more productive. It takes discipline and I’m easily distracted.

Honest feedback is better than “good reviews”. Make sure your customers understand that so that if your product is lacking in some way, you will have the opportunity to resolve it. Any review is engagement. All five star reviews aren’t believable, so just ask and be appreciate the fact that they used the product and our giving feedback. The good ones will come ;)

I think the way you start dictates the journey and the end, but don’t rely only on a good start. Break it into small chunks and create a lot of “wins” to help you stay focused on making a good end.
Generally speaking, Good Start or Good End?

I like both. Two different types of escapes. Hiking mountains gives you physical challenges rewarded with untouched views. The beach allows you to decompress into the sand with crashing waves as your audio playlist. Both allow you to escape reality and the day to day. I’m going sailing in 2 weeks for the first time in the Virgin Islands. Have a feeling it will be challenging and rewarding as well.

The art of the conversation. Sometimes I feel like I struggle having an engaging conversation with people. Would love to master the understanding of body language and engaging with people in a group setting.
If you had to choose one skill to master in 2024, what would it be and why? 🤔
