Having used Vowel since the early days for all my open office hours, it never fails to be fun to introduce the platform to people. It is one of those great tech experiences where people get to see things happen in realtime (transcription, talk percentage, tagging) and then magnified after (the recording, being able to replay to the notes, clipping). Always glad to see another version.

It started, as so many of my projects do, with a conversation on Twitter. I proposed a public Glassdoor-like system with a single rating: would you be willing to work with this person again? Slice that by demographics and we might have a tool worth building to increase inclusion in the workplace.

This is one part of the equation, for sure, but when we look at something like the gender wage gap, its occurrence isn't due to a lack of knowledge ("I didn't know I was underpaid") but a lack of action. When we built GetRaised, this is the first step but the meat is really answering the questions that then generate the letter (and getting people to hand in that letter).
